The LAND installation, which showcased charcoal IRO decking at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, has been given a new home for all to enjoy at Tong Garden Centre in Bradford, Yorkshire.
A collaboration between two northern businesses, The Plant Room and Laura Slater Textiles, LAND helps to promote wellness in nature. This theme continues at Tong, a peaceful setting with natural planting styles that lend themselves to the overall design of the installation.
It was important for LAND to use a natural product that could be incorporated into the design and bring order to the decked space, and Tong has replanted this area with their own plants.
Jo Dales, head of marketing at Tong, said: “We were thrilled to be involved with the LAND project – it’s a superb example of northern businesses collaborating to achieve something really great.
"We are naturally delighted to house the installation here at Tong Garden Centre so people have the chance to see it, we couldn’t let Chelsea be the end of this brilliant collaboration!
"The plants we provided were carefully chosen to reflect the garden’s naturalistic style and they beautifully contrast the stunning dark timber used to construct the building; it does looks amazing.
"The garden actually showcases the IRO timber perfectly – it’s such a revolutionary new and unique product that has been in the public eye quite a lot this year, not just at the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show but also on ITV’s Love Your Garden. It’s certainly attracting lots of interest."
Alix Lancaster, marketing executive at IRO, said: “The shows we’ve been attending this year have been very focussed on gardening and landscaping, so it was only right to that this stand went to a garden centre.
“So much time and hard work went into designing the stand and making sure it was everything we wanted. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback and new customers have made enquiries after seeing the rebuild.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to tell customers to visit Tong to see the product in use in both a creative way and an inspirational setting!”
